Very nice! I'm jealous! Got an old controller you're getting rid of now that you're setting up an elite?

That's what I'm doing! Well... except I borrowed a timer from our christmas lights. Lol. Just kicking myself in the pants for not picking up that reef keeper lite when I had the chance...

You have some beauties! Love your frogspawn and your acans. I've considered ordering from reefpets auctions sometime too. How did that go for you?

Re: Project 105
I drive down there , LOL. reefpets used to be in Dallas, but now they are part of Austin Aqua Farms. Gary, who runs ReefPets is awsome. he has very nice quality pieces, and I have only lost one coral in the year or so I have been buying from him. (it was my fault) His shipping is in heat sealed bags, so they absolutely can not leak unles the bag is punctured or busted.
I would recommend him to anyone, and I have recommended him to a friend in califorina. Just don't bid against me

Re: Project 105
Not much choices here. Petco has a sporadic assortment of saltwater livestock. It comes and goes and turns over fairly quickly without a ton of variety. It's on the loop at McCann.
There's also Wet Pets. USED to be a great fish store, but in my opinion, they have sort of let things go in that department a little bit. They are in the shopping center across from the mall on the Loop, between McCann and Judson.
It's always worth a browse...and a good way to kill time.

sounds like I may be spoiled with the huge selection here in the metro. But who knows I may find something there that I just got to have

Re: Project 105
We really only have two stores; Wet Pets & Critters and Petco. Wet Pets is across from the mall and Petco is just west of Wet Pets behind the Starbucks.
You will not kill much time at either of them.

It's that bad. We travel to DFW when we want to do some serious shopping. Otherwise, its all online shopping. I must admit though, Petco will get something in every once in awhile that I will pick up. No Corals though!!

my local petco is VERY hit and miss. Coral is a definate NO, Fish are needing a fin count before decide. So I avoid that place like the plague

Re: Project 105
I've drooled over that dfwmas list on many an occasion.
It all depends on when you're here. Petco is hit and miss, sometimes they have some things in there that look good...there's a purple firefish in there right now I like for example. Their corals are usually pretty rough and pretty high priced. They have a decent sized rock of green striped mushies in there right now. But honestly, how long can you look at 3 stacks of tanks?
Wet Pets just makes me sad. They also occasionally have some nice stuff, but it's hard to get past the pricing and overall conditions of the tanks in there.
We'd have more fun coming your direction I'm sure!!

I'm a big fan of The Fish Gallery, and Dallas North Aquariums. Most, nay, all of the cichlids I have currently are from either of these two. In my opinion, they're the tits as far as places to get solid fish and advice, but I'm always interested in finding new places to 'kill time' lol, any recommendations?

as far as FW, I'm not really familiar with who has a good selection. But Mid-Cities Aquarium in colleyville is a nice SW store.

Frank is a really good friend of mine, he is SW only as well, he has a nice 300g sps reef as you enter the store.
That is a pretty good drive for shank though
